The CAED Foundation is, open to and made up, of all those individuals interested in giving something back and perpetuating George’s legacy; such as alumni, present and past faculty and friends of the CAED. Today the CAED Foundation enjoys a great working relationship with the CAED in helping to look to the future by retaining the important lessons of the past.
The CAED Foundation has evolved into the only conduit, outside of CAED itself, for philanthropic contributions and efforts relating to CAED and its diverse programs. The CAED Foundation currently provides funding, partial or complete, for the Wesley Ward CAED Foundation Teaching Award, the Christine P. Brown Memorial Scholarship, the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) Scholarship, ARCH 463, which was George’s seminar/field trip series that CAED Foundation believes is so vital for students, and a scaled back version of the Hasslein Endowed Chair. Become a part of this legacy to George Hasslein, see the “Hasslein Endowed Chair” section of our website for more information on how you can participate and help us reach our goals.
CAED Foundation is currently looking to expand the governing Board of Directors over the next six months and are looking for those who want to return something of what they received from their education at Cal Poly CAED by volunteering to attend meetings about twice a year on campus. Anyone interested in helping to perpetuate the legacy of George Hasslein’s “Vision” by becoming a part of the CAED Foundation Board of Directors, please contact any current board member or Fred Sweeney (ArcE ’64), President ’04-’05, via email: SWEENEY@PMSM-ARCHITECTS.com.
The CAED Foundation would like to invite everyone, whether you may want to volunteer for a position on the board or just would like to connect with former classmates and/or professors to our next board meeting, whose date, time and place can be found below.
